Configuring your connection is easy and takes less than 5 minutes. You will need a local access number to connect to the Internet. If you don’t already know the number, click the Access Numbers tab to search for a number or to download a text file of local access numbers.
Entering Your Account Information
Turn on the 200E
Touch the Setup button (triangle button on the machine; see #33 on manual p. 9) and you'll go to a screen with nine buttons that say Display, Sewing, Settings...Portal Provider Settings
Touch Portal Providers Settings
Touch Provider 1 and you’ll go to a new screen with four long, gray bars that say Provider, Number, User Name, and Password
Enter the Provider Name
Touch the “Provider” bar
Erase "Provider" (see erasing note below)
Enter Budget Dialup (you can enter either upper or lower case letters; it is not case sensitive)
Touch ok at the bottom of the screen
Enter the Access Number
Touch the Number bar
Erase the lines ("______")
Enter the Access Number (see access number note below)
Touch ok at the bottom of the screen
Enter your Username
Touch the User Name bar
Erase the lines ("______")
Enter your Budget Dialup Username with the bdu/ prefix. For example: bdu/username. Make sure you use the / that is on the keyboard with the upper case letters.

Enter your Password
Touch the Password bar
Erase the asterisks ("***")
Enter your Budget Dialup Password. Your password is case sensitive so enter it using the appropriate upper and lower case letters.
Touch ok at the bottom of the screen
Touch ok at the bottom of the screen and you’ll go back to the screen with nine buttons that say Display, Sewing, Settings, Portal Provider Setup, etc.)
Touch Portal Provider Setup again.
Touch Modem Settings
Touch USA1 to highlight it in blue. Leave the other settings as they are.
Touch ok at the bottom of the screen until you get back to the screen with nine buttons that say Display, Sewing, Settings, Portal Provider Setup, etc.)
Touch ESC
Connecting to the Portal
Attach the embroidery module
Plug the modem into your 200E (not into your computer)
Attach the modem to the phone line with a standard US telephone cable. Don't use the cable that came with the machine.
Disconnect any USB cable connections (see USB note below)
Touch the blue globe icon that says Portal to connect
Erasing Note: Each time, before you type in any information, you will have to erase the lines ("____") or *** which are already there. To erase information, look for the <- arrow at the top right corner. That is the erase button.
Access Number Note: Do not enter any spaces or dashes in the Number field. Enter your access number exactly as you would dial it on a telephone. If you need to dial the area code when making local calls, enter the area code: For example, 9253244023. If you do not need to dial the area code when making local calls, do not enter the area code: For example, 3244023. See Entering Access Numbers for more information.
USB Note: If your Artista is connected to a Laptop or PC using the USB cable, you will need to disconnect the USB cable from the Artista prior to connecting to the portal.
To connect to the Portal in the future, simply touch the blue globe icon that says Portal. Make sure to disconnect any USB cables from the Artista, if your Artista is connected to a Laptop or PC using a USB cable. To disconnect you may have to remove the modem from the Artista and disconnect the phone line.
